1.Who we are
Hayaliv (“we”, “us”) runs hayaliv.com, an interactive learning site about small language models and Python for AI. The name stands for Human-centered AI, Yielding Actionable Learning, Innovation & Value. You can reach us at kurestermind@gmail.com.
2.The short version
We have no accounts, no sign-up forms and no ads.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the site are used.
A few settings, such as light or dark mode and the lessons you mark as complete, are stored only in your own browser.
Python code you type into an exercise or the sandbox runs in your browser. We do not receive it.
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to read and reply.
3.What we collect and why
Visit statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4. When you open the site, Google Analytics records, for example, the pages and screens you view (such as the library, a book, a lesson, a playground toy, the terminal or the contact window), actions such as opening a book, an idea or the contact window, the approximate place you are visiting from, your device type, browser, language and where you came from. Google may also receive your IP address and browser details, as any web service does when your browser contacts it. We use these figures to understand what is useful and to improve the site. We do not try to identify individual visitors. Google processes this information for us under its own terms; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
If you write to kurestermind@gmail.com, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. We use it only to read and reply to your message. Your message is handled through our email provider, Gmail, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Information kept in your browser
The site stores a few items in your browser’s storage: your light or dark mode choice, which lessons you marked as complete, and the position and size of the desktop widgets (clock and calendar). While a tab is open, the site also keeps a short-lived marker in session storage so it can show its restart animation after you press Restart. These stay on your device. We do not receive them. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Code you write
The Python exercises and the sandbox run inside your browser. The code you type and its results are not sent to us. The step-by-step views in the lessons are recordings made in advance and contain no visitor data.
Hosting records
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like most hosting services, it may keep standard technical logs, such as the IP address, the time and the file requested. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.
4.Other services your browser contacts
Loading and using the site makes your browser contact the services below. Each receives the technical information a web request normally includes, such as your IP address and browser details, and each has its own privacy policy.
| Service | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com) | Visit statistics, as described above. |
| Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) | The Inter typeface used on the site. |
| cdnjs from Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) | The in-browser Python engine. It is loaded only when you press Run or open the Python sandbox. |
| Links to other sites (docs.python.org, arxiv.org, huggingface.co, scikit-learn.org, github.com) | Only if you click a link. These sites are not ours and set their own rules. |
5.Cookies and browser storage
We do not set cookies of our own. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (their names usually begin with _ga) so that it can tell one visit from another. Everything else the site remembers is kept in local storage, as described above.
6.Your choices
- To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install Google’s browser add-on, or block analytics cookies and trackers in your browser settings.
- To remove what the site stored in your browser, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
- To see, correct or delete an email you sent us, write to kurestermind@gmail.com and we will respond.
7.How long we keep things
We keep emails only as long as we need them to read and reply, and delete them when you ask. Visit statistics are kept by Google for the period set in our analytics account.
8.Children
The site is for a general audience. It is not designed to collect personal information from children.
9.Changes to this policy
If we change how the site works, we will update this page and its date. Please check back from time to time.
